2026 Holy Week Mission
Jesus formed the first communities of apostles and sent them out to bring the Good News to His Kingdom. This call defines our identity as Catholics, our spirituality, and applies it to our daily life.
He calls us to become Missionary Disciples.
Jesus calls us to be Missionary Disciples transformed from the inside out by growing in relationship with Jesus Christ through individual and group experiences, thus transforming our parish communities. Last year, many were commissioned here at Ascension Parish on Palm Sunday, went out in groups of two to six and knocked on 10-15 doors of Ascension Catholic Parish Parishioners and shared the Good News of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
This year, we are hoping to knock on more doors and welcome our parishioners home, offer them a rosary or to pray with them and, leave them some information about Church and happenings in and around the parish.
Mission is not something we do; mission is at the heart of how we bring Jesus to others.
Mission is never the fruit of a perfectly planned program or a well-organized manual. Mission is always the fruit of a life which knows what it is to be found and healed, encountered and forgiven. Mission is born of a constant experience of God’s merciful anointing."

Outreach
The 2026 Holy Week Mission will prepare our Missionaries by giving them proper tools to head out on foot into the Community. This year the Team will be given addresses of registered parishioners in our newest communities. Each group will offer a smile, some information about the parish, along with a prayer card, a rosary, and return raffle ticket where they can be entered to win a prize which will be drawn after the Divine Mercy Sunday Masses. Missionaries can ask if we can take a prayer intention with us or they can pray with them if they are comfortable.

12:00 pm: Commissioning and Receive Crosses at Mass
1:00 pm: Light Lunch - Main Hall (Holy Huddle + Send Forth)
3:00 pm: Hot Chocolate + Fireside Chat sharing experiences and wins.
