liturgical ministries
The mandate of the Liturgical Ministries Committee is to enhance all celebrations, especially Weekend Masses. This is done by study, reflection, and evaluation of what encourages more active participation of parishioners.
Art and Environment
This team works together to create an atmosphere which enhances our celebrations by decorating the Sanctuary for Liturgical Seasons.
Altar Servers
The role of the Altar Server is to help the people of God worship by assisting the Priest during Mass. Children in Grade 3 and older who have received their First Holy Communion are able to serve in this ministry. Training is provided. Police Screening is required for adults supporting this ministry.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are called by God to become servants to other members of the Body of Christ. The primary function of an Extraordinary Minister is to assist the Priest in distributing the Body and Blood of Christ to God’s people with reverence. Training is provided.
Funeral Mass Ministry​
Assists the Presider with the Funeral Mass. Ensures Altar Servers and Eucharistic Ministers are available to serve.
Greeters
Greeters are responsible for greeting parishioners as they arrive for Mass and answering any questions they may have. The Greeters ensure all parishioners feel welcome.
Lectors
Lectors are required to proclaim the First and Second Readings at weekend Masses and lead the Prayer of the Faithful. Training is provided.
Mass Participation Tracking
The Attendance Trackers ensure an accurate count of Parishioners attending Mass and help with greeting parishioners. ​
Sacristans
Sacristans are responsible for preparing the Sanctuary for Mass and assuring all the ministries are available to serve. As well, they assist the Presider as needed during the Mass.
Ushers
The role of the Ushers is to serve the Parish by assisting in the seating of parishioners, collection and procession for Communion during Mass.
