Children of Catechetical Age

Ascension Catholic Parish welcomes older children seeking Baptism into the Catholic Faith. We offer preparation for children who are ages 7 to 17. If your child has not received the Sacrament of Baptism, we extend this invitation to you.
​Baptism for children / students 7-17 involves an in-person Baptism session with both the parents and children. During the session, we provide the family with the teachings of the Church and preparation for Baptism or Profession of Faith (for those who have been baptized in a non- Catholic faith).
At the age of 7, the Church recognizes the age of reason, therefore children / students are also required to prepare for the sacraments that are age appropriate. Children will be prepared for their baptism and sacraments during their school year.

Children who are in grades 2 - 5 please register for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Children will be prepared for all three sacraments ( Baptism/ Reconciliation / Holy Communion) during their school year.
Students who are in grades 6 - 12 please register for Confirmation. The Confirmation candidates will be prepared for all four sacraments (Baptism / Reconciliation / Holy Communion / Confirmation) during their school year.
