Children of Catechetical Age
Ages 7 to 17
Mark 10:14 "let the children come to me, and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
Ascension Catholic Parish welcomes older children seeking Baptism into the Catholic Faith. We offer preparation for children who are ages 7 to 17. If your child has not received the Sacrament of Baptism, we extend this invitation to you.
Registration Is Closed and Will Reopen June 1st 2026
​Baptism for children / students 7-17 involves an in-person Baptism session with both the parents and children. During the session, we provide the family with the teachings of the Church and preparation for Baptism or Profession of Faith (for those who have been baptized in a non- Catholic faith).
At the age of 7, the Church recognizes the age of reason, therefore children / students are also prepared for the sacraments that are age appropriate. Children will be prepared for their Baptism and Sacraments during their school year.

Children who are in grades 2 - 5 are also required to register for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Children will be prepared for all three sacraments during their school year.
Students who are in grades 6 - 12 are also required to register for Confirmation. The Confirmation registration includes the additional sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion. Students will be prepared for all four sacraments during their school year.
